Yusuf Islam (born Steven Demetre Georgiou; July 21, 1948), commonly known by his stage name Cat Stevens or simply Yusuf, is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instumentalist[1]. His musical style contains elements of folk, pop, rock, and later in his career, Islamic music[2][3][4]. In 2014, Stevens was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame[5].

Stevens' 1967 debut album, Matthew and Son, reached the top 10 in the UK Album chart, while it's title track peaked at No. 2 on the UK Singles chart. His fourth and fifth albums, Tea for the Tillerman (1970) and Teaser and the Firecat (1971), were certified Triple Platinum in the US[6]. Tea for the Tillerman spawned the hit singles "Father and Son" and "Wild World", while Teaser and the Firecat contains hit singles "Moonshadow", "Peace Train", and Stevens' cover of "Morning Has Broken", as well as "The Wind", which was used in Sing.
